Sir, – Fintan O'Toole informs us that antigen testing in the American university he is working at is compulsory for all (Opinion, November 16th).
I know some third-level colleges in this country that wished to implement compulsory antigen testing for all students, but the legal advice given to them was that this would not be permitted by law.
Meanwhile, managers of restaurants, hotels and pubs are obliged to check for the vaccination status of their customers, but are not permitted to check the vaccination status of their employees.
What a way to fight a war.
