Naoise Ó Cearúil is a first-time TD following his election to the 34th Dáil, Fianna Fáil’s second TD to be elected from Kildare North.
Mr Ó Cearúil, a 35-year-old born and raised in Maynooth, first became a public representative on his election to Kildare County Council in 2014. He has served on the council since then, and was mayor of Kildare between 2021 and 2022.
Alongside his work on Kildare County Council, Mr Ó Cearúil has held various roles at several tech companies. He most recently worked at Gong, a US-Israeli analytics company, and Zendesk.
He studied Business and Law at Maynooth University.

The councillor is a native Irish speaker. He worked for a short time as a secondary school Irish teacher.
Mr Ó Cearúil lives in his hometown with his wife. They are expecting their first child.
