Sir, – The word "undocumented" appears no fewer than 11 times in Sr Lena Deevy's letter of September 11th. Is this a record?
Irish adults who settle in the US without going through the proper channels and filing the requisite paperwork are mocking those Irish who’ve taken the trouble to do so. A grown-up discussion about migration policy and due process on your letters page can only truly begin when contributors desist from using this insulting phrase “undocumented Irish”. The correct designation is “illegal immigrants”. – Yours, etc,
