Sir, – The fact that there are suddenly lots of documentaries about the British royal family (Letters, August 19th) on RTÉ is simply due to RTÉ paying attention to ratings.
In particular, when Oprah Winfrey interviewed the Sussexes (Harry and Meghan) earlier this year, it was one of their most watched programmes in at least a year.
Like it or not, the Plain People of Ireland are interested in the neighbouring royal family. – Yours, etc,
