Sir, – Parents furious at school closures; lecturers aghast at Met Éireann getting it so wrong; noise over whether remote learning should have been provided – all because children missed two days of school and the powers that be judiciously erred on the side of caution to ensure no freak accident with a tree, a car, a bus and school children took place.
For some it seems that education has stopped being a part of childhood and has started replacing it.
