‘Nobody wants a hard border’

Sir, – Boris Johnson’s statement that “nobody wants a hard border” is hypocritical (News, January 11th).

The vote for Brexit was a vote to leave the EU and was motivated by a wish to prevent free movement of people into the UK. It was, therefore, precisely a vote for a hard border. – Yours, etc,
