Sir, – Following your correspondent's thoughts on football commentary (Letters, July 1st), one phrase used during a recent Euro 2020 match by the pundits really caught my attention. During a short pause in a game, we were told the players "took the opportunity to on-board some fluids".
To my eye it looked exactly like they had a drink of water but I am no soccer expert.
