Sir, – While I appreciate Graham Guthrie's many ingenious recommendations for grilling sausages (Letters, August 26th), I find that the best way to cook curvy sausages is to first, fry them, and second, stand on them when they are in the pan! – Yours, etc,

Sir, –With regard to the wonderfully explanatory dissertation by Graeme Guthrie about curved sausages, may I add that in the North of the country, the DUP have a most effective recipe to solve the problem. They import them straight from the UK wrapped in red tape. – Yours, etc,
