Sir, – My local supermarket is selling apples from France, the Netherlands, South Africa and 18,000km-away New Zealand.
Lucky for Earth, there were Irish apples there too. I bought those instead.
Despite Mother Nature’s outstanding resilience and mankind’s intelligence and innovation, I’m not optimistic we’re going to pull this trick off.
