Sir, – While driving through various villages in Devon, I noticed that many have found a new use for the old-style telephone boxes of a bygone era: the housing of a defibrillator, clearly marked for all to see.
Could we not adopt a similar idea for rural Ireland?
I believe there is a company that manufactures old-style telephone boxes in Ireland for export mainly to the United States.
The benefit of using such structures would be twofold: the reinstatement of a classic icon of the past, and the introduction of something of benefit to the community in an emergency. – Yours, etc,
