Sir, – I am very sympathetic to those in Government dealing with the Covid crisis but it is now time for the Coalition partners and Opposition leaders to stand together, publicly, and agree a coherent and effective policy response to this current wave of Covid.
When a transplant operation cannot go ahead due to Covid-related capacity problems – and I am sure there is a multitude of other similar heartbreaking stories – and after 20 months of crisis management by extraordinary frontline medical staff, it is time to take decisive and speedy action.
We must listen to people like Prof John Ryan from St Vincent’s hospital who does not feel that the efforts of those on the frontline, where the situation, as he describes it, is “grim”, are being matched by those in power. – Yours, etc,
