Covid weddings

Sir, – One sympathises with the many couples whose wedding celebrations are now going to be stopped short at the Cinderella hour.

Should we also sympathise with the many couples of my generation, and our parents, who managed to have a wonderful day by getting married in the morning, then having – quite literally – a wedding breakfast, partying all day, before changing into our “going away” clothes, throwing the bouquet over our shoulders to some lucky bridesmaid, then disappearing on our honeymoon at some civilised hour of the same day we got married?
