Sir, – Under the HSE's pandemic plan, we can expect a full resumption of cancer services by the end of the year ("Cancer services will not fully resume until year-end under HSE's pandemic plan", News, March 23rd). Considering that cancer is responsible for approximately a third of all deaths in Ireland, it is perverse that its treatment joins education, employment and mental health on the sacrificial altar to Covid-19. – Yours, etc,
