Bank and post office closures

Sir, – I refer to Beatrice Doran's excellent letter (October 8th).

In addition to the closure of local post offices, the banks are closing branches all over the country. This is at a time when both the post office and the banks are encouraging bank customers to go to the local post office to do their business. Is this a joke or am I missing something? – Yours, etc,
