Limerick Regatta, Saturday:

A tradition since 1870, the regatta returned from Kilaloe to co Limerick in 1984 organisers are hoping to outdo previous years with this weekend’s event. More than 30 clubs will be represented by hundreds of crew members, making it a record breaking year for the regatta.

The regatta itself is held in O’Brien’s Bridge rather than Limerick city, as tidal conditions do not allow enough time to organise an event of this size. The event will take place from 9am to 7pm and is free.
