It's official. Summer may finally be taking hold. Met Éireann is forecasting a mixed weekend but it's going to get really warm next week. Heatwave, anybody?
Thursday will be “dry and sunny”, according to the forecaster, and temperatures will be as high as 24 degrees Celsius. The Met office does not forecast beyond that, but it does bode well for the upcoming bank holiday weekend.
This weekend won’t be half bad either. Today will be the usual mix of scattered heavy showers and sunny spells and afternoon temperatures will rise to between 15 and 18 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow, too will see some heavy showers but it will be as hot as 19 degrees Celsius. Sunday will be warm with good sunshine over much of the country and highest temperatures of between 17 to 20 degrees.
As we head back to work on Monday temperatures will creep up to 22 degrees and sunny weather is expected to remain in place until Thursday at least when temperatures will hit 24 degrees. Happy days.
