Jamal’s Journey

An extract from a story by 3rd class pupils at St Francis of Assisi Primary School, Belmayne, Dublin 13

It all started out at the Aviva Stadium. Charlie the dog was out for a walk when he found another dog.

Charlie barked. “What’s your name?”

“My name is Jim Jon,” the other dog replied.

Jamal Jr, who had been creeping around the bushes near the stadium, snatched Charlie and jumped on the bus.

Charlie was excited to be on the bus but he was hungry.

When the bus was at a stop sign Charlie ran into a shop, stole a banana and got back on the bus.

Jamal lived a 20-minute walk from a forest. He had heard a legend that there was gold in the forest.

He was supposed to go on a camping trip with his friends in the forest. Jamal needed help to find the gold.

“I’ll give you a lot of treats if you help me to find the gold,” Jamal said.

Charlie thought it was a good idea. He barked. “Woof woof!”

“I’ll take that as a yes,” Jamal said.

Jamal, Charlie and Jamal’s friends left for their trip the next day. They were asleep when they heard a noise.
