RACING: War of Attrition's Cheltenham Gold Cup campaign appears to be back on track after tests taken on the back of his disappointing effort at Punchestown on Sunday found nothing major to be wrong with the horse.

Trainer Mouse Morris last night reported that he will now train War of Attrition for the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas and a likely clash with Beef Or Salmon. "I would say we should be ok to run in the Lexus. We will probably take it easy for a week but the main thing is that it's not a virus. It's not a big thing," he added.

Meanwhile the Kicking King team of Barry Geraghty and Tom Taaffe will be in action at this afternoon's Downpatrick meeting where In The High Grass could emerge best in the maiden hurdle.

It will be a happy return north for In The High Grass who brought a decent reputation with him for his bumper win there in late February. The horse managed to justify favouritism by three parts of a length from the subsequent winner Hardwick.

In that light a hurdles debut behind Wanango at Naas in November didn't exactly set the world on fire but there was better at Limerick subsequently in a run that indicated a step up in trip would be ideal.
