South African Richardt Strauss could take to the field against Munster at the Aviva Stadium this Saturday (6.30pm).

The hooker, who has been sidelined since March with a torn hamstring, has “again trained this week having made a successful return . . . and is available for selection at the weekend.” So, too, prop Jack McGrath, who took full part in training today and has recovered from his calf strain.

Centre Noel Reid returned to training yesterday and his ankle injury showed no ill effects when on the field again today, while wing Dave Kearney (knee) remains a "another few weeks" away from full contact work.

"Zane Kirchner and Shane Jennings are still nursing hamstring injuries and the game this weekend has come too early for them both and they will not be available for selection," a statement added.
