Munster captain Peter O'Mahony and Dave Foley both returned to full training this week ahead of the visit of Heineken Cup pool opponents Perpignan to Thomond Park on Sunday ( 12.45pm).
O'Mahony (dead leg) and Foley (hamstring) are expected to be joined on the paddock by James Coughlan tomorrow after his recovery from an eye injury, while there was positive news today regarding Ireland lock Donnacha Ryan (knee ligaments) and flanker Tommy O'Donnell (knee hyper-extension).
Both are ahead of schedule in their recoveries and will take place in “limited training” this Friday.
Hooker Mike Sherry underwent a scan on the ACL in his left knee on Monday and will see a specialist on Thursday to assess the damage further, while Gerhard van den Heever will have his broken hand examined more closely on the same day.
Backrower Paddy Butler has had the cast removed from his fractured right thumb and is "progressing well", with a view to taking some part in training next week.
" Simon Zebo (foot) will meet with the specialist next week for a review and update on his possible return to training," according to the province, a statement adding that Niall Ronan may return to training in two or three weeks having sprained his knee.
