It's Juddmonte day at York and it could prove something similar at the start of Killarney's new €400,000 autumn racing festival where Khalid Abdullah's famous pink and green colours can secure feature race glory this evening with Brooch.
The Dermot Weld-trained filly is the least experienced of the 10 lining up for the Listed Vincent O’Brien Ruby Stakes having won her only start to date at Galway three weeks ago.
Brooch beat little in terms of form in Ballybrit but the style of her success was hugely impressive and Weld left no one in doubt of his regard for the strapping filly afterwards.
She faces some smart types here, including another unexposed type in Flight Risk, but Brooch could wind up much better than Listed class.
The Juddmonte colours also look set to be prominent in the opening juvenile maiden on Postulation who chased home the Acomb hope Jamaica at Galway.
Joseph O'Brien aims to get from Yorkshire to Kerry in time to ride the last three races tonight and the 105 rated Red Rocks Point should at least reward him with one winner.
Henson might not have looked the bravest on his last start at Galway but Antique Platinum's wayward passage hardly helped him. He can take the apprentice maiden under Connor King.
