Cantlow heads Grand National field

Field of 30 will go to post at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday

Paul Webber’s Cantlow heads a maximum field of 30 for Monday’s Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse.

The British horse is one of six runners for leading owner JP McManus, with the Charlie Longsdon-trained Pendra and Jonjo O’Neill’s Shutthefrontdoor and Alfie Sherrin also making the journey.

McManus’ home raiders are the Gordon Elliott-trained Cause Of Causes and Colm Murphy’s The Westerner Boy.

Tony McCoy misses the meeting having picked up a suspension at Aintree.

Arthur Moore's Home Farm has been well supported in recent days and will be ridden by David Casey.

The Irish National remains one of a very select list of races to still elude Willie Mullins, who runs Touch The Eden and Away We Go.

Goonyella, former winner Lion Na Bearnai, Letter Of Credit, top-class hunter chaser Tammys Hill, Sraid Padraig and Gallant Oscar are others in the ultra-competitive race.
