RACING: Aidan O'Brien's Derby dark horse, Sorcerous, will not run in tomorrow's Dante Stakes at York.

The colt, who beat In Time's Eye on his only start to date last October, had been mentioned as a Dante possible over the weekend.

"There is nothing wrong with him but he will not run at York. He was never a definite runner anyway. We are unlikely to have runners at York," said a Ballydoyle spokesman last evening.

Earlier Aidan O'Brien had described Johannesburg as "a possible" for Royal Ascot's Golden Jubilee Stakes, formerly the Cork & Orrery.

The colt's owner, Michael Tabor, had suggested over the weekend that the Breeders' Cup winner and Kentucky Derby disappointment would run in the Group One contest.

But O'Brien said: "It is too early to say for definite. Ascot is a long way away."
