RACING/Pierse Hurdle: Adrian Maguire's intended Pierse Hurdle mount, Camden Tanner, who had been a 5 to 1 second favourite for Sunday's big handicap, will miss the race.

The Cork trainer, Robert Tyner, reported yesterday: "His blood is not right and he doesn't run. We had it double checked today and the results were the same. We've had a bit of an infection in the yard but we've been lucky up to now." Paddy Power took Camden Tanner out of their ante-post betting yesterday morning amid rumours that all was not well with the horse and Doonaree is now a 7 to 2 favourite to give Pat Hughes a third victory in a row in the race.

The Gatherer currently is top of the weights but has been described as just 50-50 for the Pierse, while the next horse in the ratings, Pittsburgh Phil, will run in another race on Sunday.

Yesterday's market mover was Janidou who was cut from 20 to 1 to 14 to 1 with Powers.
