Noel Chance confirmed yesterday his Gold Cup hero Looks Like Trouble is on schedule for a renewal of hostilities with Florida Pearl at Down Royal on Saturday.

The Lambourn trainer assured those concerned about the deteriorating weather and ground conditions that his stable star will travel for the £110,000 James Nicholson Champion Chase, declaring: "The going would want to be seriously bad before we would consider not running."

Chance added: "We're not going to get any better ground in Britain and the forecast midweek is for improving weather which means travelling should be OK. We can wait until Thursday for the horse to travel if we have to."

Looks Like Trouble had a workout under his big race rider Richard Johnson yesterday and is considered sufficiently forward to do himself justice on Saturday.

"It's a long way to March and he will improve for the race but he is fit enough to run a very nice race. If Florida Pearl does him for a bit of toe we would have to think he is a little more forward than us but our horse has had two racecourse gallops and is pretty straight," said Chance.
