After picking up 14 yellow cards and one red card last season Manchester City hard-man and captain Andy Morrison decided to sign up for an anger management course in an attempt to learn to count to 10 before flattening opponents.
Twenty minutes from time in Saturday's match between City and Fulham there seemed to be evidence that Morrison was indeed a new man - after squaring up to Stan Collymore in a heated moment instead of hitting him he kissed him, rather passionately.
It was a beautiful moment, until the referee whipped out a red card and dismissed Morrison for ungentlemanly conduct (what's ungentlemanly about kissing?). "The referee said he sent Andy off for sticking his tongue down Collymore's throat. If that's the case he must have a tongue like Red Rum because as I saw it they were nose to nose," said a none-too-happy Joe Royle, the City manager, after the game. Morrison, we understand, has fired his anger management counsellor and has vowed to start decking opponents again.
