Brian Gavin has been named as referee for the All-Irleand Senior hurling final between Kilkenny and Tipperary on September 4th.

This will be Gavin’s fourth Senior final after he took the whistle for the 2011 - where Kilkenny beat Tipperary 2-17 to 2-16 - and 2013 showpieces.

He was also in charge for the 2014 final replay - where the Cats beat Tipp 2-17 to 2-14 to lift the Liam McCarthy Cup.

Gavin has also taken charge of the All-Ireland Minor final in 2004 and the All-Ireland U-21 final in 2006.
