Kieren Fallon is on standby to ride Ballingarry in Sunday's Derby Italiano.
Aidan O'Brien yesterday confirmed the Italian option at Rome's Capannelle track is being considered for the Prix Noailles winner.
Ballingarry is also in the French Derby but the trainer said: "We are thinking of Italy and if he does run, Kieren Fallon will ride."
On the home front, Sunday's Entenmann's Irish 1,000 Guineas took a blow yesterday with the news that the original ante-post favourite Queen's Logic will miss the race and that Snowfire, second in the Newmarket 1,000, will instead be aimed at the Epsom Oaks.
Queen's Logic trainer, Mick Channon, said: "She worked great on Tuesday but a trachea wash came up bad afterwards and she has been coughing." That resulted in Gossamer, who flopped in the Newmarket Guineas, taking over as ante-post favourite, with Ladbrokes quoting the Luca Cumani-trained filly at 2 to 1.
The ground at the Curragh remains "soft" after the track escaped most of the rain that pelted down on the rest of the country.
"We had 3mms of overnight rain but we have had a lovely, sunny day. It's absolutely smashing and there is no question about going ahead," said the Curragh manager Paul Hensey.
Last night's scheduled Leopardstown card was not so lucky and was called off at 11 a.m. yesterday morning after an inch of overnight rain waterlogged the track. But the meetinghas been rescheduled for next Thursday.
Tipperary are also looking for a new date for their fixture which was supposed to go ahead tomorrow. The weather resulted in that being cancelled yesterday morning and June 5th looks like being the most likely substitute.

Aidan O'Brien has left eight horses in the English Derby following the latest forfeit stage, including ante-post market leaders High Chaparral and Hawk Wing. Dermot Weld's In Time's Eye is another possible raider for the June 8th showpiece.
The Mark Johnston-trained pair, Bandari, bought yesterday by Hamdan Al Maktoum, and Fight Your Corner, purchased by Sheikh Mohammed for his son, are both thought likely to be added to the race at the supplementary stage.
