Shining Emerald looks to have his ideal conditions for Ireland’s final Group race of 2013 in today’s JRA Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown.
A race that threw up back-to-back Classic winners in Footstepsinthesand and Grey Swallow a decade ago has seven lining up this time including two from Ballydoyle and a single filly, Lanyard, who will attempt to emulate her stable-companion, last year's winner Big Break. However, they all look to have a task against Shining Emerald, impressive in the Blenheim Stakes last time, and prior to that a 16-length winner of his maiden at Listowel on testing ground.
The Listed Trigo Stakes includes the one-time Classic hope Tarana who makes a belated seasonal debut but preference is for the four year old Euphrasia, a Group winner over the trip in May who was noted running on well over a mile at Naas.
