Sir, – I agree completely with Dee Delany (Letters, March 12th) that the young need a little hope. We hear daily of creches, primary, secondary and Leaving Cert students, and how important their education is.
The education of college students is just as important. However they are rarely mentioned in the media, on any news platform or by any politician, unless specifically questioned, which is rare.
Most of these students have not been to college since last March, and first-year students have never set foot inside their chosen college.
It is time that they, and their parents got some clarity as to what next October and the start of the new college year, will bring. Third-level is expensive and unfortunately these students have been totally forgotten about. They deserve better. – Yours, etc,
