Sir, – News of the commercial recovery of An Post ("Surprise turnaround at An Post as revenue back at 2008 levels", Business, April 20th) is most welcome, given that just 12 moths ago chief executive David McRedmond warned that 265 post offices were unviable and facing closure. The proposed opening of 20 offices to ensure the accessibility of rural communities to these vital services represents a Lazarus-type event and certainly defers the last post. – Yours, etc,
