Sir, – President Trump has threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea. Just think about that for a moment. The president of the United States has threatened to kill over 25 million people.
There are two ways you can take it. Just more blathering from Mr Trump, which we have become used to and will be forgotten by the time he makes another outrageous statement. Or a direction of travel which will lead, if not to the total destruction of North Korea, but to a very dangerous military adventure. Either way, if any other leader made such a statement he’d be described as a maniac, fanatic, etc, but Mr Trump has so degraded the value of words that we just shrug our shoulders. – Yours, etc,
