Sir, – In the centenary year of the Treaty, it is surely time for the members of the several Irish-based academies, educational institutes, clubs, societies and businesses to consider the appropriateness of the “Royal” appendage to their names.
One would have thought that by now, the members involved would accept that we live in a sovereign, independent, and democratic Republic with the president as head of State.
