Scundered or scunnered, posh or not

Sir, – I am absolutely scunnered that Brian Fletcher (Letters, July 3rd) has been scundered by Róisín Ingle's lack of knowledge of Ulster-Scots.

Not that he’s wrong in his definition of the word – but it does serve to highlight the difference between those living in posh Holywood, on the southern side of Belfast Lough, and those of us emanating from the much more common Carrickfergus on the northern side.
