Sir, — I was a regular blood donor for many years (Living donations, Health+Family, March 28th).
After my last (and final) donation, sample A was a “false positive” ie it was within a range that was borderline for use. Samples B and C were subsequently tested and were perfectly acceptable for use. This “false positive” precludes any further donations from me until 2059, when I will be 100!
Is it not time that the IBTS reviews cases such as mine, considering the consistent demand for donors. – Yours, etc,
