Rebuilding Ireland

Sir, – The Government’s Rebuilding Ireland Plan, “an action plan for housing and homelessness”, has so far delivered a 30 per cent increase in homelessness.

We’ve now been told that a “Vacant Homes Strategy” will be published next month but in the meantime an “Empty Homes Unit” is to be established.

Maybe the Government should set-up an “Empty Promises Unit” – at least we’d know it would deliver. – Yours, etc,
