Sir. – It may be that Ireland's prosperity is well lower than GDP figures suggest (Charlie Taylor, "EU rankings wrong on Irish prosperity, says ex-Central Bank chief", Business, February 4th).
If so, then data looking at expenditure on health and education as a share of GDP must understate significantly Ireland’s rankings in relation to these indicators. – Yours, etc,
