A Chara, – As a Gaeilgeoir and former teacher of Irish for 35 years, may I suggest that Prof Stifter's quibble about the number of fadas in St Féchín's name as reported in Frank McNally's always entertaining Irishman's Diary column (July 6th) reflects one of the reasons the Irish language is in such dire straits?
