Sir, – We were delighted to read the piece on the Irish Pirate Radio Archive which will be welcomed to Dublin City University Libraries as part of our media history collection ("Transistors in biscuit tins: a look back at the heyday of pirate radio", News, October 2nd). However, an exhibition about the archive (not the archive itself) will open on Friday, October 5th, in the O'Reilly Library on the Glasnevin campus. This exhibition, curated by media historian Eddie Bohan, has been touring Ireland to mark the 30th anniversary of the transition from pirate to statutorily-based independent radio. It will run in DCU for the rest of the month. All are welcome.
The archive itself will require considerable preparation before it can be made available. – Yours, etc,
DAVID MEEHAN,
