Sir, – A photograph in last Saturday's Irish Times jumped out at me. It was of a man, post-Hurricane Harvey, carrying an armful of photograph albums, rescued from a flooded house. How easy will it be for such tangible treasures to be found in crisis situations in the future, I wonder?
I was shocked to find that my own family album habit halted circa 2010.
Images since then are stored in the ephemeral world of the PC, the USB key and possibly the cloud, but is there anything to match the tangible pleasure of prints, not to mention the “findability” of photo albums? – Yours, etc,
MARGARET HAWKINS,
