Sir, – In all the talk about pensions, can someone tell the Government that there is a direct causal link between the high cost of childcare and the burgeoning cost of pensions?
Pretty basic Leaving Cert economics, really.
To be clear, If it becomes too expensive to have children then we will have less children who when of adult age will work and pay the pensions as the average family size will shrink to unsustainable population levels.
