Sir, – Whatever about the view of the James Gandon-designed Four Courts being "hidden behind a mask of plane trees on Dublin's city quays" (Letters, August 18th and19th), that situation can be easily rectified: fell the trees!
Unfortunately,the Loopline railway bridge is made of sterner stuff. This monstrous piece of engineering is a blot on the capital’s landscape. It obscures the view of Gandon’s other masterpiece, the Custom House. – Yours, etc,
