Sir, – Congratulations to the National Symphony Orchestra on the March 17th performance of Shaun Davey’s Granuaile and Brendan Voyage in the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
The composer and performers, who convey the atmosphere through their playing, were badly trumped by some pretty awful mood lighting with constant changes across the alco-pop colour spectrum.
They overcame this travesty. In my opinion, it was wicked (in the old-fashioned sense of the word).
St Brendan would have turned in his grave.
