Sir, – We are a membership body representing more than 100 organisations in Britain. Among our members are organisations providing welfare services to the Irish community, including to members of the survivor community.
Following a motion to our AGM in January, our members mandated us to highlight the ongoing needs of UK-based survivors to Irish government departments.
Further to your report "Concerns about Caranua to be raised with Government by Irish in Britain group" (February 21st), Caranua was not referenced in the motion nor have we yet elicited formal feedback of members' and survivors' experiences of accessing Caranua services.
Going forward, our aim will be to facilitate constructive dialogue to ensure the best outcomes for UK-based survivors throughout and indeed beyond the life of Caranua.– Yours, etc,
BRIAN DALTON,
Chief Executive,
Irish in Britain,
London.
