Sir, – The introduction of the new personal injury guidelines has had a clear and significant cost saving for insurance companies (News, April 12th).
The Irish Times reports a 42 per cent drop in general damages for personal injury claims and a 35 per cent overall fall in claims over the last three years, yet there has been only an 8.6 per cent fall in premiums. Shouldn’t the consumer feel the benefit of these savings through a proportionate reduction in insurance costs? – Yours, etc,
