Sir, – It was reported in the business section of The Irish Times (September 7th) that a study commissioned by Ibec found that a majority of people in the Republic favour higher-density developments as a means to increase housing supply in urban areas. Was this in the context of there being no other option?
I know that high-density buildings have yearly management fees and are more profitable for property developers to build. However, I have never yet met a person that wants to live in a high-density development. Maybe it is the company I’m keeping! – Yours, etc,
