Sir, – You heart-wrenching report that the income of barristers is falling upset me so greatly that I almost choked on my smoked-salmon omelette and had to send my valet home ("Barristers concerned about income as pandemic bites, survey finds", Business, February 5th).
Occupying the high ground of untouchability and defending the out-of-date and inefficient system that we have inherited here, despite the reforming efforts of the troika, I wish them well in their vale of tears.
Welcome to the real world. – Yours, etc,
TONY
