Sir, – The new Garda uniform is absolutely awful and looks more like something you would buy in the local garden centre. With world-class designers available and outstandingly smart uniforms to model from, such as the Italian police uniform, I cannot comprehend the lack of critical comment on this awful effort. I hope someone with taste in the Opposition parties commits to discarding this insult to our Garda and commits to having a competition between our Irish designers to come up with something worthy of our Garda force, sooner rather than later. – Is mise,
