Sir, – I note, regarding the Garda bank account in Cabra: "At its peak the funds involved were in the region of €90,000, and at its lowest €5,000" ("EU funds held in Garda bank account, O'Sullivan confirms", News, June 20th).
It’s a pity they didn’t reduce the balance to zero before closing it. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – A few hours before the Garda Commissioner appears before the Public Accounts Committee, certain issues arising from a two-year-old internal audit of finances at Templemore are referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission.
