Sir, – Perhaps the proponents of “a rule change a week” might explain just which of the experimental rules conspired to enable Dublin and Kerry to produce a very entertaining game of football in Tralee on Saturday. Alternatively, they might accept that their rule amendments were totally irrelevant to the standard of the football.

Good football is played by good players on grass. Experimental football is played by non-players on paper and in committees. – Yours, etc,
